Defeating Political Correctness & Leftist Thought Control

Greetings one and all.

This is the opening post in a brand new blog effort. I settled on "Omnivorous Mind" for a blog name since it's a pretty accurate description of the writer. Almost everything interests me at some level and I probably read a good eight to ten hours a day.

The reason this particular blog exists is to counter the "Shadow banning" that Facebook began several months ago from the time of this post. I mostly write on things political and it seems that my right of center point of view is unacceptable to the Facebook thought police. While I could see my posts many of my friends and followers could not. Also, I noticed that on posts which leaned well to the right, the "Share" button was conspicuously absent.

IF Facebook is supposed to be a social platform where people can post their thoughts and opinions then it defeats the entire purpose to have "thought police" watching people and banning content they personally do not like. Granted some content should never be allowed such as posts that exploit children or other vulnerable persons. Posts which advocate for riots, rebellion, and other mayhem. Posts which run counter to the accepted societal norms of a country such as animal cruelty or child pornography, etc.

That being said we are afforded free political speech in the Constitution. Again, it is understood that Facebook is a private entity and can establish whatever rules it wishes but, in return for them selling all our personal data to the highest bidder, we should be able to speak against the dominant media and expose their obvious bias. If differing thoughts and ideas are arbitrally banned then no exchange of ideas occurs. Being able to exchange ideas is how intellectual progress is made. Simply propping up one approved way of thinking, while suppressing another, isn't helpful to the national dialogue.

I will continue to post on Facebook but I'm also going to put the same post on this platform too. I'll place a link on my Facebook page as well to make the unfiltered and uncensored content easy to locate. I may investigate "monetizing" this blog since I am retired and, as everyone knows, an extra buck here and there never hurts. I'm sure it will be a constantly evolving work in progress.
